ABOUT

Addison Stonestreet has Tourette's Syndrome. His case may be seen as incredibly mild but the advantages brought on by the TS, make him unusually gifted.

With a degree in painting, multi-disciplinary art practices, Addison's education and work experience has lead to a career as a fine artist and designer.

Stonestreet's art is a direct response of how he sees the world around him. Taking in information and inspiration from anything and everything. He employs a range of mediums, substrates and subject matter to create his artwork and designs.  Over the years Stonestreet has developed a complex process of mark making to generate his colorful creations. Letting his intuition guide his work.

More than fashion—this is wearable art. Each piece I create is one-of-a-kind, handcrafted from reclaimed and vintage materials, bringing history into the present with every stitch. I don’t just design clothing—I transform my own artwork into fabric and prints, merging fine art with fashion in a way that’s completely unique. No mass production, no repeats—just bold, intentional design made to be worn, lived in, and loved. Whether it’s a reimagined textile, an unexpected silhouette, or a hand-stitched detail, every garment tells a story. Yours is the next chapter.

"Don't ever be afraid to make a mark" - Addison Stonestreet

Oliver Sacks wrote about a patient who was practically unbeatable at ping-pong:

Sacks cited a study where a control group of “neuro-typicals” and a person with Tourette’s were asked to react as quickly as possible to a situation. The control group proved able to respond two to two and a half times faster than usual and with poor aim. The person with Tourette’s responded five to six times faster than usual and without compromising accuracy. “This is very real, this mixture of speed and accuracy,” Sacks said. “I think it often is part of Tourette’s.”

Backstory

I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of art and design—where creativity doesn’t just exist on a canvas but becomes something you can wear, feel, and live in. Growing up, I was fascinated by texture, color, and the way materials could be transformed into something entirely new. That passion led me to study art and design at the University of Kansas, where I immersed myself in everything from painting to photography, constantly experimenting with different mediums.

In 2014, everything changed. I left Kansas for San Diego to take part in my first artist residency at “A SHIP IN THE WOODS”, and that experience completely reshaped my creative path. Surrounded by a new environment and fresh perspectives, I pushed my work further than ever before—challenging traditional boundaries between art, fashion, and storytelling. It was there that I realized my work wasn’t confined to galleries or sketchbooks; it could be worn, lived in, and experienced in everyday life.

When my residency ended, I stayed on as Assistant Director for the organization, a role I held until 2018. During that time, I helped support and mentor other artists, curated exhibitions, and deepened my understanding of what it means to build a sustainable creative practice. It reinforced my belief that art isn’t just about creation—it’s about community, experimentation, and pushing boundaries.

I began deconstructing and repurposing fabrics, seeing potential in forgotten materials—vintage textiles, discarded fabrics, pieces with history. My love for fashion wasn’t about trends or fast production; it was about creating something meaningful, personal, and entirely unique.

Now, every piece I make is a fusion of my two passions: art and clothing. I design my own prints, turning my paintings and drawings into textiles, and I meticulously construct each garment by hand. Every item is one-of-a-kind, a wearable expression of creativity—no mass production, no duplicates.

For me, fashion is more than just clothing. It’s an extension of identity, a conversation between past and present, a form of storytelling. When you wear one of my pieces, you’re not just wearing fabric—you’re wearing art, intention, and a piece of a larger creative journey.
