“Birds Nest” 2 denim reversible bucket hat. Both sides of the hat have denim with interfacing on the backside. Giving the hat lots of structure while being flexible. The exterior of the hat is comprised of my leftover thread from my previous projects. Creating a colorful array of textures. The interior is solid blue denim with multiple colored accent stitching. This project utilizing my discarded thread has been a long time coming. I have had this idea in my head for a long time. I really love the way it turned out. Interfacing lines the back of all the hats panels. To give the bucket hat more structure and rigidity without compromising comfortability and flexibility. This hat was a commission from a person in Kansas City. I wore the original “Birds Nest” hat I made out to a first Fridays event. A guy named Kota saw me wearing my hat and asked me to make him one. Three days later I delivered the hat to his work.
